1 - 15 oz can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1⁄4 c plain plant milk
1⁄4 c unsweetened cocoa powder
3 T maple syrup
1 t vanilla
1⁄4 c vegan chocolate chips, melted (optional)
● In a food processor, combine chickpeas, milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt. Process until smooth. Add more milk as needed for the desired consistency. Transfer hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with melted chocolate chips and stir into hummus, if desired. Serve with crackers, apple slices, bananas, and pretzels.
Mexican Brownie Hummus: Add 1⁄2 t ground cinnamon and a pinch of cayenne pepper
Chocolate Mint Brownie Hummus: Substitute 1⁄2 t mint extract for the vanilla
